Scheduling and Rotas
Included on every plan, Starter upwards. Custom shift types need Advanced.
Managers can build weekly rotas with operational context:
- drag-and-drop planning
- availability and leave awareness
- rest-period, 48-hour weekly limit and overlap warnings
- safe staffing measured at the worst-covered moment of the day, not shift by shift
- open shift handling and assignment flows
- shift types with default start and finish times and their own paid hours, so a rota fills in consistently every week
- room-by-room scheduling for services that plan around bed or room occupancy, not just staff cover
Paid hours belong to the shift type and are set deliberately, because they are not always finish minus start: a long day is commonly 11.5 paid hours against 12.5 elapsed once the unpaid break is taken out.
Pay rates are never attached to a shift. Somebody's rate comes from their own pay record for the date they worked, so a shift worked in March still costs March's rate after an April rise.
The goal is better shift coverage with less manual coordination.
