FAQ
Is DailyLife.UK only for care homes?
Care homes are the primary focus, and the compliance features are built around what a registered provider has to evidence. The same rota, timesheet and leave features are used by hospitality, retail, childcare, cleaning and security teams.
Do I need a card to try it?
No. Every new organisation starts with 30 days of Advanced in full, with no payment method and nothing to cancel. At the end of the 30 days you move to Starter, which is free and permanent, and everything you recorded during the trial stays where it is.
Can we start small and stay small?
Yes. Starter is free and permanent for up to 5 staff on 1 site. It does not track statutory leave or holiday pay and has no payroll export, so you would either keep those records elsewhere or add the Leave and Absence module, which can be bought on Starter without changing plan.
Do you support payroll export?
Yes, on Advanced and above, and it also needs the Leave and Absence module switched on. Both conditions apply on purpose: a payroll file produced without leave lines underpays anyone who took leave in that period and looks perfectly plausible while doing it, so we refuse to produce one rather than let it out. The export reconciles line by line, and re-downloading a past run reproduces the same figures even after a pay rate has since changed.
Does DailyLife make us CQC compliant?
No, and we would be careful of anyone who says otherwise. Compliance is the provider's duty and inspection outcomes are between you and CQC. What DailyLife does is keep the evidence an inspector asks for, in a form you can produce on the day: training and DBS status, policy acknowledgements with the version that was signed, staffing levels against the minimum you set, and an evidence pack generated for a date range and stored, so what you showed an inspector in March still says the same thing in June.
Where is our data held?
In the UK and the EU. Databases and application hosting are in the EU, email delivery uses an EU endpoint, and payments are processed through a UK account. Where an AI feature is used, it runs on a single EU region and no other AI provider sees your data.
Is AI always enabled?
No. AI features are part of Enterprise, and are limited to caption suggestions for content drafts and answering policy questions from your own uploaded policy documents. They assist a manager's decision and do not make one.
What happens if a payment fails?
We notify the account owner and allow a 14-day grace period. If the invoice is still unpaid after that, the organisation moves to read-only. Rotas, clock in and out, timesheets, leave and every compliance record keep working; payroll exports and administrative changes pause until payment succeeds. We do not lock an organisation out of its live rota over a failed payment, and we do not delete records for non-payment.
Can staff use it for free?
Yes. Staff never pay. An individual can also sign up on their own for personal reminders, and if their employer subscribes, the workplace features unlock for them automatically at no cost to the individual.
